Just what I was looking for!
If you want a double action OTF this is the way to go. I would rate the construction of this OTF on par with the higher priced Microtechs and Benchmades. The lock up is very tight when deployed and it doesn't rattle. You have to really grab and pull the blade to notice any blade play. Very snappy action. Much better than the Chinese knock-off clone OTFs. Now the steel isn't as nice as the $300 OTFs. 440A is probably the lowest you could go. But unlike cheap generic Chinese 440A, the 440A of this particular knife seems to be properly heat treated. Reminds me of Buck 420HC. So it's not horrible and for what you're using this knife for it's adequate. When stropped it takes a wicked edge. I really like the weight, traction, and the guard. It feels great in the hand and has the profile of an Italian Stiletto. It carries deep but the flare out at the bottom of the handle makes it easy to grab and pull out. Just a great Italian OTF.
