grans fors style hatchet from condor?
Okay so there have been tons of reviews done on the condor scout some like it some don't, everyone comparing it to the grans fors bruk hatchets because it is shaped like a grans fors. 1st off the steel is drop forged not forged by hand like a grans fors, this does make a difference in edge retention and heat treatment in the end. Now on a hachet this size does it matter? Probably not, at barely over a pound the most you will be doing with this hatchet is chopping small kindling, or what I bought it for ...spoon carving. First off you need to run this little guy on a grinder or preferably a belt sander to reprofile the edge. Once that is done for $45 you have in my opinion one of the best and most affordable little hand hatchets you can buy. Quality construction throughout, hickory handle with a great handle shape, leather sheath as good or better than a gransfors sheath and with a new edge it chops as good as anything of that size and weight. Perry has the best price on the internet, so buy with confidence this is a great little hatchet for the money. A poor mans grans fors.
