The Launch 4 opens with a push button, recessed so that it is level with the flat of the handle. This is a safety feature and makes it harder for the knives to accidentally deploy. For left-handed use, press the blade-release/lock button with your index finger instead of your thumb. Great little automatic
I couldnt say enough good things about this knife. I'll put it as simple as I can... I'm literally going to buy two. One for carry, and one for display. They are THAT awesome. From the engineering/design, to the awesome Blackout Matte color... this is ridiculously cool. And I hear it's legal in CA too? These Kershaw automatics are the best I've handled... now I'm no professional, and I wouldnt even consider myself anything but a novice when it comes to my knowledge, or experience with any high end knives... but these are all amazing. I literally will go broke buying them all. So, if I were you, and had the extra money, which, at the time of this posting, this was the cheapest place to purchase this knife by atleast $12. So far, I've purchased 3 knives from here, and they have all shipped within 1 business day. Zero complaints, and two thumbs up.

Great little automatic
Bought this when I found out Kershaw made Automatics. I had no idea, and liked the size of this one, so I figured I'd try it first. I cant say enough good things about this knife. It is obviously small, but for me, its absolutely perfect. The automatic action is snappy without being too crazy. I love the finish on it, and the build quality is amazing. Buy this if you've been eyeing it, you wont be disappointed.

KERSHAW LAUNCH 4 CA LEGAL AUTOMATIC KNIFE
I own a couple full-sized autos, a Kershaw Launch 2 has been my EDC for years. However, it's been a little bulky in the pocket of dress pants, when wearing it clipped to my pocket isn't appropriate. The Launch 4 is just what I've been looking for. It's a small, discreet, effective tool. The button to open the knife is recessed and took a little getting used to, it requires a bit more pressure compared to my Launch 2. Very snappy opening, so make sure you have a good grip. Excellent edge on the blade. Very satisfied with the quality. PKW has the knife at a great price, and it arrived as scheduled.

Small, but big.
For a small pocket knife I have had big enjoyment with this knife. You never know it’s there until you need it and it satisfies all my needs.
