The Flashbang offers a lot of bang for the buck. I used to want a Spydie Sage 2 ( I have a Sage 1), but this knife is far more comfortable to hold than a Sage. The flashbang is a little longer and thicker, as well as contoured as opposed to the flat Sage. There is no thumb stud and none is needed. The flipper with the ball bearing is as smooth and easy to open as an assisted opening knife. Unlike most knifes I have, I did not need to oil the pivot area to get smooth operation ( I did have to oil the Sage). The blade is very high quality and comes razor sharp. This is a knife relatively few others own, and will impress any knife nuts. Remind them that the Sage is made in Taiwan. Spyderco's overall quality (attention to fine detail) is a little better than the Kizer, but then again Spyderco's fine detail quality is better than most other brandsI. I do not regret getting the Flashbang over the Sage 2, the uniqueness, ergonomics and general high level of quality make the Kizer very satisfiying.

Wow Nice Knife!!
Who would have guessed a knife made in China could be so nice. But guess what it is. The action lockup and detent on this knife is pretty amazing for the money.
