      As stated before this new Lightning is heavier (3oz more) but there is less blade play than the 1st model (drop point). I have had 1 misfire with this model , but no misfires with my older model (100's of openings) so 4.5 stars

      I believe this knife is the newer heavier lightning model. I have the older lightning, and it is lighter. Not as much spring noise, but comes out just a tad slower. In my opinion, the extra weight makes it feel better to hold. Fast shipping. Excellent service. Thank you.

      excellent knife to add to my lightning otf collection, works flawless with new heavier weighted design and razor sharp , the new cutting edge design is heavier weighted about the weight of a roll of quarters and just a note the partially serrated versions do have a v grind on the forward blade edge, excellent company to deal with, i have purchased from multiple knife companies and perryknifeworks has exceeded all other companies, great email responses and fast shipping of product, will definitely purchase from this company again thank you chris
