This Smith & Wesson M&P MPOTF10G Spring Assisted OTF knife boasts a double-edged, black coated AUS-8 steel spear point blade and a tactical gray aluminum handle. The knife offers spring assisted single action deployment with a press of the thumb slide. A locking feature at the top of the handle releases the blade for manual closing. The handle has notched finger grooves for style and improved grip. Comes outfitted with a stainless steel tip-down pocket clip.

Smith& Wesson, not just firearms
The smith Wesson quality brand continues to their outdoor division which I think is separate from their firearms division, but non the less the same value and attention to details. Great design and good price.

M&P OTF knife
Great knife for EMTs, police, firemen I don’t like it for personal protection because of the manual manner you have to disengage the blade but it is a solid knife!

Smith & Wesson M&P OTF
This is an extremely nice knife, and has become my regular pocket knife. IT is a tiny bit bulky compared to something like a MicroTech or their many copies, but it is exceptionally ergonomic. This is a single action OTF, which means the blade extends at a touch of the slide, but must be retracted manually. It is activated by a slide on one of the long sides of the knife, and retracted by a lever on the same side, after pressing a catch up by the blade. The quality is high, and the finish is exceptionally nice. It has the look and feel of military gear, like a tool. When triggered, the blade has a distinct snap into place. The safety is similar to that on a DA handgun, with a red dot when the knife is armed. One more thing about the ergonomics. The knife feels really nice and secure in the hand. The body is curved slightly, tapers in all the right places, and has ridges molded in for an even more secure grip. The blackened 3.5" spear point blade is wickedly sharp. S&W has a long history making firearms, and providing police supplies, and sporting goods. The body is aluminum, and the blade is AUS-8, which is a good steel, but not an exceptional one. For the price, this is an extremely nice knife, and certainly good enough for day to day use. Now if only they would make a similar model with a 5" or 6" blade.

I bought this for my mother. She wanted something that she could easily pull out of her purse as a defense device. She loves it. I live out of state so she a picture of her holding it in a crouched position as a joke. I used it to send out Easter cards to all my siblings. She's having a good time with it if nothing else but she really likes it

S&W OTF spring assisted, single action knife.
Appears to be a solid build. The knife was received in a timely manner, and was functioned as advertised. I'm a little disappointed by the lack or speed and force with which the blade deploys. I am satisfied however, because I bought two of them for display only, and that's still a lot of knife at the price point.
